A Tabletop Exercise ( known in cybersecurity as a TTX) is an effective way to safely "stress test" a security policy via simulations. The practice is traced back to the military and is common among cybersecurity teams. Heading into a cybersecurity incident without running a TTX is often a recipe for disaster.
TTX events should involve participants from the entire organization, not just the Information Technology or Cybersecurity teams. In this lesson, the CAT team goes over a fun primer, "CAT & MOUSE," which is a game we created to help introduce an organization to a TTX for the first time.
